Stroll
Mindfulness Through Haptic Navigation

Stroll is a wearable haptic navigation system that combines AI, GPS, and haptic feedback to guide users through urban walks while encouraging presence and reducing screen dependency. Developed as part of the MDD program at the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam, it reimagines urban walking as a mindful, screen-free experience. Using a pair of wearable haptic clips, the system provides directional cues on AI-generated routes without visual distraction, fostering situational awareness and promoting the mental and physical benefits of walking.
Prototyped through multiple physical and digital iterations, Stroll wearables integrate a Bluetooth-enabled Arduino, haptic motors, and an accompanying iOS app for customization and AI-powered route planning. Tested in real and simulated environments, the design explores flexible form factors and inclusive affordances, leading to exhibitions at ThingsCon 2025, Dutch Design Week 2025, and an invitation to the AUAS 10K Incubator Program.
